Bet365 Edit Bet Feature Explained
Posted by: Mitko Atanasov in Jan, 2017
bet365 has integrated a brand new feature that will give users even greater control over their betting.
Edit Bet is available now on bet365’s desktop and mobile platforms, giving users the ability to add, swap, or even remove selections from unsettled straight accumulators of single bets made pre-match or in-play.
How Edit Bet Works
Fundamentally, Edit Bet works by using bet365’s Cash Out function.
After making the edited bet, the original bet will be cashed out. This amount will then be used to place the altered bet, which will utilise the latest odds for the selections, with the initial odds becoming void.
What users need to bear in mind is that Edit Bet can only be used when the overall outcome has not yet been determined. This means that negative outcomes cannot be adjusted as the entire bet has already lost. However, it will be possible to use Edit Bet when final results are positive, with adjustments allowed on non-determined outcomes.
Edit Bet Example
As an example, you might choose to back the Premier League’s lunchtime game in your accumulator. In this case, let’s say that Arsenal enjoyed a home victory over Man City. If you backed Arsenal then you can still use Edit Bet if you want to change your mind on the later games. However, you will not be able to use Edit Bet if you failed on that bet.
The core appeal of Edit Bet is that numerous changes can be made on unsettled selections. For reference, bet365 has openly stated that there will be no restrictions on the number of additions, swaps, or removals when using Edit Bet.
How to Edit Bets
Editing bets could not be simpler, so let’s explore how to make pre-game and in-play alterations. After signing in to your bet365 account via the website or app, go to My Bets and then the Cash Out tab.
At this area, you will see your active bets listed below. Look for the horizontal green row beneath the dark row with the Cash Out tab. You will see an Edit Bet button on the right of the screen – click or tap the button and you can start to make changes.
Adding Selections
New selections can be added by using the Add Selections option from within the Edit Bet section. You will then be linked to the bet365 Sportsbook and shown a popup instructing you to add new selections.
After picking a new selection, it will be shown in a temporary bet slip shown at the bottom of the screen. The betting slip will then display a New Return at a value that is calculated based on the selection that has been removed.
Once your selections have been chosen, click Add to Bet to update your bet slip. Then it’s only a matter of tapping Save Changes and Confirm to edit your bet.
Swapping Selections
Starting from Edit Bet, you can tap on a current selection if you wish to swap it out.
The Swap Selection popup will then appear to show possible alternatives from the same market. Simply pick one of the displayed prospects to be shown the new betting value.
To complete the swap, click on the Done option from the popup. Then remember to select Save Changes and Confirm to submit your updated bet.
To make it less confusing, we’ve included a picture pointing out where you can do the swap.
Removing Selections
Once a selection has been removed, the betting slip will adjust to display the new potential return while accounting for existing payouts. Remember to look over the entire bet before selecting Save Changes and Confirm to submit the adjustments in time.
bet365’s new Edit Bet feature will be a helpful option for sports fans who have a change of heart before kick-off or at halftime. Whether on desktop or mobile, the feature is very easy to use, but the instructions above are always here for guidance if you ever need to come back to check on any of the details.
