Chelsea
The Blues have well and truly put their stuttering start to the season behind them, having won three consecutive league games and recently destroying Qarabağ FK 6-0 in the Champions League.
Now, Chelsea have an opportunity to exact revenge on their London rivals who played a role in causing Antonio Conte and his men to struggle. A 1-1 draw in regular time of the Charity Shield resulted in a 4-1 defeat on penalties, leading to Chelsea losing 3-2 at home to Burnley in the opener.
Since then, Chelsea have witnessed positive signs from their new players, with wingback Davide Zappacosta, midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko, and striker Álvaro Morata all scoring during recent victories. Meanwhile, captain Gary Cahill can now return to the defence after his three-match suspension and attacking midfielder Eden Hazard is getting back to fitness.
Everything is coming together well for Chelsea and they are now primed to defeat an Arsenal side that are inconsistent and ill-equipped to compete with more powerful sides. Chelsea will have no qualms about surrendering possession and squeezing the space available to Arsenal.
At this point, it’s obvious that Chelsea can depend on the likes of Hazard and Marcos Alonso to rapidly break down the left and punish teams on the counter. Arsenal’s right flank will struggle to prevent those incisive attacks.

Arsenal
Fans who still retained faith in Arsène Wenger witnessed a false dawn at the beginning of the season. After lifting the Charity Shield and narrowly edging 4-3 opener against Leicester City, the Gunner began misfiring.
The 4-0 trip away to Liverpool was an utterly humiliating experience that highlighted Wenger’s alarming defensive choices. Arsenal haven’t been renowned for consistently solid defending in seasons gone by, but that challenge was intensified by Wenger’s poor decision-making.
Laurent Koscielny started in the centre of a three-man defence, but was flanked by fullback Nacho Monreal and the ineffective Rob Holding, while the impressive Sead Kolašinac was left on the bench. Bizarrely, Wenger also elected to use the right-footed Héctor Bellerín as the left wingback.
Arsenal have improved after the 4-0 defeat, beating Bournemouth 3-0 in the league and FC Köln 3-1 in the Europa League. However, both matches were at the Emirates and against teams that Arsenal should be expected to beat.
The fact of the matter remains that Arsenal have started the season looking uncertain with their three-man defence and wingbacks. This will leave them looking vulnerable against fellow top-six teams.
Verdict
Chelsea have the home advantage and momentum on their side, while also possessing a desire to avenge the Charity Shield defeat. Over the summer, critics suggested that Chelsea lacked depth in their squad, but a late splash in the transfer market has given Conte more options.
Arsenal beat Chelsea 3-0 last September, while Chelsea won the follow-up 3-1 in March. The instability of the Arsenal defence would suggest that goals could flow in a home victory for Chelsea, which is priced at 1.80 with bet365.
